At the ongoing 79th Cannes Film Festival's Marché du Film, a legend was honored on Sunday for his work in genre cinema. The filmmaker returned to the festival, where he won the Best Director award 15 years ago, with his first feature in a decade. The filmmaker returned to the festival, where he won the Best Director award 15 years ago, with his first feature in a decade. The movie will have its premiere in the festival's out-of-competition section on May 18. The honor was presented to him by the Fantastic Pavilion, and Collider is excited to partner with them and Alex Noyer's digital horror series, The Séance, to bring you news and interviews from the world of genre cinema. Noyer serves as both showrunner and host of The Séance, and launched the Fantastic Pavilion in 2023 with Pablo Guisa Koestinger.
