Although little is still known about it, it has now been confirmed that a second sequel to the '80s action blockbuster Top Gun— following the enormous, billion-dollar success of its cinema-saving sequel, Top Gun: Maverick— is now in the works. Currently in early development at Paramount, Christopher McQuarrie has confirmed that the idea for a third Top Gun movie has been developed, with plans to pen a script now underway. Sometime soon, we're likely to get another update on the journey to more Maverick.

James Handy, an 81-year-old New York actor who had small roles in films such as Jumanji and the more recent Top Gun: Maverick, was killed outside his Los Angeles home. The confessed killer is his girlfriend’s son, a 44-year-old man named Michael Gledhill, who remains jailed on $2 million bail.

Now that we know we're getting Top Gun 3, it's time for the franchise to take "a ride into the danger zone" and try something that's never been done before — Top Gun 3 needs a proper, genuine villain.

High-octane action is never a bad choice when you're looking for something to watch, and a billion-plus dollar blockbuster ain't a bad place to start, is it? Particularly when you consider it had very low expectations, and ended up being the highest grossing film of 2021, as well as "saving cinema" itself.
