An extreme close-up of a vintage United States postage stamp issued on January 9, 1982. With a face value of 20 cents, this stamp features a detailed dark blue intaglio engraving of a Bighorn Sheep (Ovis canadensis) ram with its iconic large, curved horns.

Printed by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, this stamp (Scott #1949) was updated from the 1981 18-cent brown version to match the new 20-cent first-class letter rate and was issued exclusively in booklet form. The beautiful wildlife engraving captures the fine textures and powerful expression of this majestic North American mountain mammal.

A vintage 3-cent United States definitive postage stamp from the famous 1938 Presidential Series (commonly known as the "Prexies").

The stamp features a side-profile bust of Thomas Jefferson, the 3rd President of the United States. The dates "1801-1809" inscribed on the right indicate his years in presidential office. This used specimen is printed in a light violet/purple monochrome ink and displays a standard machine cancellation mark.
