A recent piece of news just revealed that this shift is affecting another Star Wars series, and breaking a seven-year streak in the process. During Disney's presentation at the 2026 TV Upfronts, Rosario Dawsonrevealed that the second season of Ahsokawill debut in 2027, rather than this year.

Darth Maul emerged from the shadows with a new Disney+ series that has not only become the highest-rated project in Star Wars history, but it’s already been picked up for Season 2. Leading star Sam Witwer, who does the voice work for Darth Maul in the Disney+ series, has also confirmed that the wait for Season 2 won’t be too long. Star Wars will finally make its long-awaited return to the big screen for the first time since 2019 with The Mandalorian and Grogu. The live-action feature film will be a direct continuation of the Star Wars Disney+ series that launched back in 2019, along with the original release of the Disney+ platform.
