  • George R. R. Martin's Most Hated Sci-Fi Series Has Become a 10/10 Binge Watch on Streaming Chris McPherson
George R. R. Martin, for better or worse, knows storytelling. But the man behind the biggest fantasy series in the world, a series which famously did not stick the landing in any way, shape or form, has a bone to pick with another series that once caught the imagination of the viewing public. From the very start, viewers were wowed by polar bears, smoke monsters, cursed numbers, secret bunkers, time travel, and while Martin was one of them, he had a big problem with the grand finale.

  • New Elden Ring Game Officially Confirmed for June 2026 Release Chris McPherson
George R. R. Martin’s fantasy fingerprints are still all over some of the biggest stories ever told and, while most fans know him best for Game of Thrones, his work on Elden Ring helped give FromSoftware one of the most detailed and epic fantasy settings in gaming. The Lands Between already made the jump from massive open-world RPG to a film being shot now, but it's expanded through different games and spin-offs and now it's getting another life in a very different format.

George R.R. Martin has more than earned his status as one of the most legendary fantasy authors of all time β€” his writings are the inspiration behind the biggest TV franchise in the world with Game of Thrones. Game of Thrones aired its second spin-off earlier this year with A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, and the third season of House of the Dragon is coming in just a few weeks. Martin may be the writer of the (infamously unfinished) Song of Ice and Fire series, but he’s also involved in other non-Game of Thrones projects, both as a writer and producer. Last year, Martin’s short story, In the Lost Lands, was adapted into a fantasy film starring Dave Bautista and Milla Jovovich, but it bombed at the box office with only $6 million against a $55 million budget.
